2009 Trevian Tournament Information

Latest news

I want to thank each and every one of you for your patience and understanding this weekend. Many of you were very gracious in expressing your support for what we were able to accomplish given the flooding conditions, and I thank you for that. I have to say that were it not for the tremendous efforts and skill of the employees of the Wilmette Park District (Howard Park) and the Northbrook Park District (Techny Fields), we could not have done what we did.

Second, I want to acknowledge and congratulate all of our champions. They are:

10U Blue Division: Arlington Patriots

10U Red Division: Deerfield Warriors Red

12U Blue Division: Grayslake Pride

12U Red Division: Glenview Titans Gold

14U Blue Division: Des Plaines Sparklers

14U Red Division: Northern Ice 95

I hope you all have a great summer of softball yet to play, and we would love to see you all back again next year.

Comments from 2009 Trevian Tournament Participants

The Trevians deserve credit for pulling off a miracle this weekend.  You had to have the worst weather conditions ever presented to you and somehow you got through it.  The texts, automatic phone calls, web page updates were by far the best I have ever seen from any tournament in the 8 years I have been coaching.  My hats go off to a first class top notch organization.

Thanks again for everything - and for all of your hard work to make sure that we all still got to play.  It would have been so disappointing if we missed the chance to play in the tournament, and I know that there are some people that would have just cancelled the weekend judging by the look of those fields.  Thanks again, we had tons of fun.

Having participated in softball tournaments across the country from 10u -18u including nationals and IHSA State, I have never witnessed a more organized and better run event from start to finish then was put on this weekend by TGSA under extremely difficult conditions.  Congratulations Al and the entire tournament committee for a job well done!!

You guys did a great job under tough conditions. Kudos to your whole team. We will always support the Trevian programs. Through the Trevian organization, both the tourney and the NSFPL is possible – a big thank you to all involved.

Many thanks for all your and your teams efforts related to the tournament.  In spite of the weather, you pulled off a great event.  Communication was exemplary, and the tournament was extremely well organized.  You and you team are to be congratulated on a highly successful event.
--The Libertyville Cats 14 Orange had a great time.

Great job under some very difficult conditions. Everyone from Park Ridge really enjoyed the tournament and we will be back again next year. Your entire team did such a great job to pull this together. Your placement for the pairings of the teams in the elimination brackets was done perfectly. I watched some very well matched ball games on Sunday. Thanks again....

Nice job of salvaging the weekend...we appreciate all the hard work that went into this! Thanks!

Your communication throughout the tournament with all the weather was so helpful, those automated messages really kept us in the loop.
--NF Park District.

Tho we were one and done on a beautiful Sunday morn, the Slammers 10Us would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for all you guys were able to do given the situation. I told everyone who would listen all weekend that I felt bad for the kids, but the kids would have many more games to play this summer. I felt worse for your group, knowing how many months go into one weekend in which you're at the mercy of the elements. We have our own Slammers Tourney here in Skokie in 4 weeks. If we encounter the same, you can be sure we'll turn things over to you folks right away.
