Horicon, WI, May 18 -- Trevian 12U Green took second place in the Wisconsin Bandits Tournament in Horicon, Wisconsin over the May 17 weekend, winning 4 of 5 games and losing only to the Tournament champs.
A great pitching rotation, sharp fielding and solid batting led the team to wins over teams from all parts of the state of Wisconsin, and kept them neck and neck until the final inning with the team that eventually won the tournament.
Trev Green won games against the Appleton Sizzle (7-4), Wisconsin Bandits (9-5), Sussex SunDevils (9-7) and the Columbus Wisconsin Xplozion Red (7-1), but lost to the Columbus Xplozion Black (9-12).

Kelly Schade pitched no-hitters through the 5th inning against the Sizzle, who beat the Tournament Champs later in the day, and through the 6th inning in the last game against the Xplozion Red, with 14 strikeouts in that game. Kelly struck out 39 of the 98 batters she faced while allowing only 14 hits during the weekend. Pitcher Madeline Flynn's lock-down fielding from the mound kept batters off the bases as well, and she allowed only 6 walks the entire Tournament. Madeline's bat was also hot, getting on base half the times she appeared at the plate.
Alex Peccia's bat was also on fire, hitting .467 during the 5-game tournament, and getting on base two out of every three times she was at the plate. Alex's fielding at shortstop also kept runners off the bases as she snagged almost anything in the air to the left side of the infield.

Maddie "Maddog" Head led the team in RBI's, batting in 6 runners over the two day tournamnet. Maddie's game-changing hit against the Sizzle accounted for two of her RBI's in the first contest.
Annie Sullivan's solid play at third base also helped lock down the left side of the field, while her performance behind the plate as catcher anchored the team. Liza Tarr's leadership behind the plate also kept the team grounded, and her consistent contact at the plate helped get her on base more than half the time she batted.

Abbey Boyd's fleet-footed performance and outstanding catches in center field contributed to the wins. At the plate, Abbey's .677 batting against the highly-rated Wisconsin Bandits helped the Trevs carry the game. Devin Smith's strategic bunting kept her on base. Devin had a great game against the SunDevils, batting .750 for the game and making a diving stop in left field that saved a run.
Bridget Murdoch's dynamic bat contributed to her on-base average of .500 for the tournament. She was particularly effective in the final game against the Xplozion Red team, batting .750. Rachel Fisher's stellar play at first in the last game helped shut down the Xplozion Red. Cassandra DeStefano also had a strong bat during the tournament, hitting .308 for the weekend, including a deep hard hit to left field against the Xplozion Red team.
